Today, we want to share the teaching experience both directors have worked hard to gain, and the principles we intend to uphold at INNIT.

This is a long post, but we hope you will take the time to hear what matters to us.

👩🏻‍🏫 Our English director

“Practical skills built through humble beginnings and late nights”

Our English director started as an assistant, cleaning stairs and toilets and doing all kinds of other tasks. She gradually took on classes at different academies and became a lead instructor. Even while working 52 hours a week, with low pay and no guarantee of good conditions, she held on to one goal.

“I want to teach children a little more accurately, and make things a little easier to understand.”

She stayed up late preparing lessons and creating her own materials. She never simply assumed a child understood: she would change her explanation three or five times, until she saw understanding in their eyes.

Working with many different children taught her what discourages them from learning English, and which explanations help them understand.

She sought to prove herself through teaching skills, results and dedication, rather than an impressive title. She went on to work as a lead instructor at a well-known language academy in Sajik, Busan, and gained recognition from middle and high school teachers in Sajik and Haeundae.

That practical knowledge of how to meet children at their level was built through many unseen late nights. To us, it carries more weight than a line on a CV.

👩‍🏫 Our mathematics director

“Learning what real education means through examples of what not to do”

Our mathematics director learned what a true educator should be through experiences in workplaces that fell short of that ideal.

With the academic grounding she gained at university, she focused on concepts and principles rather than memorising formulas. Early in her teaching career, this approach earned parents’ trust and thanks.

But some of the workplaces she experienced later were disheartening.

Appearances sometimes mattered more than children’s growth. Students were left without structured support, and others’ methods were copied without a clear educational conviction behind them.

She encountered similar situations after moving to Changwon, which made her think deeply.

“Shouldn’t an academy be a place for children?”

Her difficult experiences in Sajik and Hwamyeong led to determination rather than defeat.

“Let’s build an educational space where we can truly take responsibility for children’s growth.”

We want to help children improve their grades while also developing their attitudes, habits and ability to think independently. Our many experiences of what not to do in education laid the foundations for INNIT English and Math Academy: a place that respects children as individuals and focuses on what education is really about.

Firmness, grounded in care

“The commitment behind INNIT’s lessons”

Being kind does not mean overlooking attitudes that get in the way of learning.

Disruptive study habits and broken promises,

a lack of engagement,

or taking shortcuts and deceiving themselves when they are capable of more—

we believe children need firm guidance in these situations to develop well. We will not avoid a problem for fear of their reaction, or simply accept tuition fees while ignoring their attitude.

Clear boundaries can come from care. We believe children can feel the concern behind a teacher’s firmness.

Experience from Busan, taking root at INNIT

Our experiences in Sajik, Haeundae and Hwamyeong in Busan showed us both what we did not want to repeat and the education we wanted to offer.

We do not want to become set in our ways. We want to bring that hard-earned experience and a broader perspective to meaningful education in Palyong-dong, Changwon.

An academy that respects each child as an individual, rather than treating them as a means of producing results.

An academy that values teaching skills and care over a flashy brand.

An academy where teachers’ hard-earned experience can become a guiding light for children’s futures.

Our promise to parents

When you worry about your child’s studies,

“Can my child do it too?”

“Where can I find a teacher I can really trust?”

We understand how those worries can keep you awake.

One honest conversation can mean more than a hundred impressive presentations.

We understand how much it matters when you come to us for advice, so at INNIT we never take consultations lightly. Please feel free to visit and talk with us. Drawing on the experience we have worked hard to gain, we will think together about how far your child's potential can take them.
